Annetta Mae Stone (Ogle), 82, Sheridan, went to be with the Lord on Thursday June 3, 2021.
She was born in Noblesville on Aug. 8, 1938 to Charlie and Mildred Ogle.
She attended Sheridan High School where she met the love of her life, Billy Stone. The two were married at the Wesleyan Church on Dec. 18, 1960. He survives. After high school, she furthered her education through Marion College, which eventually led to her obtaining her Master's Degree through Butler University. She loved her job as an English teacher and poured her heart into her lessons.
Mrs. Stone utilized every opportunity to help a child grow and develop; inspiring curiosity in her students as they, in turn, bestowed her with a sense of accomplishment. She started her teaching career in the Westfield Public School System for seven years, and later became a substitute teacher for the Sheridan Public School System for 20 years.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed the fellowship and sharing of faith encouraged by Northview Church in Carmel, and the Six Points Wesleyan Church. Mrs. Stone could often be found reading her Bible in preparation for her Bible Study group. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. One of her favorite things to do was to travel across the United States with her husband. During these excursions they would go camping, site seeing and live in the moment together. Some of her fondest memories were from her travels to Texas and Alaska.
When she wasn't at Bible study or traveling, Mrs. Stone enjoyed reading, writing, working in her garden, and most importantly spending quality time with her family.
Survivors other than her husband include children, Bruce (Diana) Stone of Fairland; Barry (Stephanie) Stone of Vincennes; and Brad Stone of Sheridan; a sibling, Dale (Patricia) Ogle; grandchildren, Zachary, Kristin, Kaitlyn, Brent and Jackson Stone; and great-grandchild Miles Crider.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Brent Wayne Stone.
The funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Six Points Wesleyan Church, located at 1545 W. 226th St. in Sheridan. Family and friends may pay their respects at the church the same day beginning at 11a.m. Mrs. Stone will be laid to rest in Crown View Cemetery. For those who will not be able to attend her service there will be a Facebook live stream.
Memorial donations may be made to Northview Church, 12900 Hazel Dell Rd. in Carme.
