Barry Joe Chamblin, 55, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 16, 2020 at his home in Sheridan.
Born April 7, 1965 in Noblesville, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Kieta Roseanne (Wood) Chamblin.
For the past 15 years Mr. Chamblin worked for Delta Foundations, pouring and finishing basements and doing foundation work. He loved his work, but he really loved his down time. He was a firm believer in the saying "work hard, play even harder," and those were the words he tried to live by. He liked going fishing and playing pool, and absolutely loved taking your money at the poker table (although there were quite a few times it was the other way around). If there was a Colts or Pacers game on, that was a good enough reason for a party; NASCAR races too, for that matter.
Mr. Chamblin lived life to its fullest and partied like he was on tour with Aerosmith (which would have been at the top of his bucket list). He loved his rock and roll, and to him, nobody did it better than the bad boys from Boston.
He attended Christ Community Church in Lamong.
Family always came before fun. His daughters were his pride and joy. He also had a compassionate heart when it came to animals.
Survivors include his daughters, Stephanie (Christian) Curry of Kirklin and Ashley Powers of Kokomo; one brother, Keith Chamblin of Sheridan; one sister, Helen Yvonne Lee of Cicero; nephews, Terry Chamblin, Al Peterson and Sam Peterson; niece, Jessica Allison Lee; and by his life partner, Tami Lynn Powers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Brian Kemp Chamblin, and Dennis Allen Prater.
A celebration of Mr. Chamblin's life is being planned for a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kercheval Funeral Home in Sheridan.
