Jewell A. Noe-Haskett, 98, Sheridan, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, March 7, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at Wellbrooke of Westfield.

Born Feb. 15, 1921 in Hamilton County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Jessie (Walker) King.

She was a 1939 graduate of Sugar Creek High School, and would live most of her adult life around the Sheridan area.

On Dec. 31, 1939, she married Kenneth Lavern Noe. Mr. Noe preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1989. She would later marry Max Haskett on Feb. 22, 1994. Mr. Haskett preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 2002.

Mrs. Noe-Haskett was a firm believer in the strength of family. She kept her family at the center of her life, and in turn became the center of theirs. She was a dedicated farm wife whose top priority was taking care of those who she loved most in this world, especially when it came to her grandchildren.  She not only raised the kids and took care of the housework, but also helped her late husband Lavern with the their farming responsibilities. She and Laverne also ran the family excavating business for many years.

Mrs. Noe-Haskett was a woman of unwavering faith in God. She was very active within her church family. She also believed in the importance of being active within the community. It didn't really matter what type of family you were; blood relation, church family, or part of the area she was proud to call home, you were part of her life.

Survivors include her sons, Richard M. (Melissa) Noe of Monument, Colo. and Ken E. (Lynn) Noe of Sheridan; step-son, David M. (Tish) Haskett of Carmel; daughters, Connie Dunn of Kirklin, Karen Denny of Sheridan and Vicki Nunery (Max) Hittle of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joan Brown of Frankfort, and Phyllis Powell of Texas. Of 11 total children, Joan and Phyllis are the last of the family.

Other than her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Justin Laverne Noe; son-in-law, Keith Dunn; five brothers, Kenneth, Roscoe, Gifford, Bob, and Zeke King; and three sisters, Velma Boone,Dortha Mae Boone, and Lavonne Patchette.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2019 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St. in Sheridan. Burial will follow at Crown View Cemetery, in Sheridan. Her grandson, Cam Nunery, will be officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
