Teresa Jean Pickett, 57, while surrounded by her loving family and caregivers, went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, Dec. 6, 2018 at her home in Baker's Corner.

Born on Nov. 26, 1961 in Noblesville, she was the daughter of Thomas J. and Margaret L. (Hays) Heck.

She was a 1980 graduate of Sheridan High School, and shortly following graduation her life would change forever. That was the summer when she met her soul mate and the love of her life, Dale Alan Pickett. She and Dale were married on Oct. 22, 1982. Together they raised a wonderful family, as well as taking care of quite a few stray animals that happened to wander onto the farm.

Family was a huge part of who she was. It really didn't matter if you were related to her or not, if you were a part of Mrs. Pickett's life, you were family. If someone could come up with a reason for family and friends to get together, she was in. Birthdays, holiday parties, reunions, family camping trips, get-togethers with her knitting group, or just heading out on the bike with Mr. Pickett and their riding buddies and getting lost in the beauty of the open road, those were the times that she held closest to her heart. Her work family meant the world to her as well. For 17 years she scheduled appointments and helped keep Noblesville's Hair Design by William running as smoothly as humanly possible. Mrs. Pickett enjoyed the years she spent with her coworkers, and truly loved getting to visit with the clients that came into the shop.

Mrs. Pickett attended the Baker's Corner Wesleyan Church. She and Mr. Pickett also rode with the Lebanon Chapter of the Gold Wing Riders Association.

Survivors other than her loving husband include her two sons, Joshua Alan (Alyssa) Pickett of Westfield and Levi Thomas Pickett of Sheridan; two grandchildren, Autumn and Sadie Pickett of Westfield; a brother, Steven (Ruth) Heck of Sheridan; brother-in-law, Michael (Adrienne) Pickett; father- and mother-in-law, Ron and Janice Pickett of Baker's Corner; and by her parents, Thomas and Margaret Heck of Lake Placid Fla. Going down to Florida to spend time with her parents was always one of her favorite vacation spots.  She is also survived by her two feline BFF's, Opie and Ellie Mae, who were by her side until the very end.

She was preceded in death by her brother, William Joe Heck.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 at Kercheval Funeral Home, 306 E. 10th St. in Sheridan. Burial will follow at Crown View Cemetery in Sheridan. The Rev. Rex Dunning will be officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Kercheval Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be presented to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
