Tresa Ann (Smith) Waitt, 90, of Sheridan, was called home on Sunday, March 7, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1931 to the late Doyle and Miriam (Kraus) Smith in Clinton County, Indiana.
She was a graduate of Sugar Creek High School, Class of 1949.
She married Grover Waitt and they had 54 years together before he passed away in 2005.
Mrs. Waitt’s love for reading led her to become a librarian. She worked at the elementary school and the Sheridan Library. She looked forward to sharing her love for reading and learning with everyone.
She was a member of the Sheridan United Methodist Church. Mrs. Waitt looked forward to attending church on Sundays where she would tell the children stories. Other memberships included the Sheretts Club and a proud membership in the Hamilton County Republican Party.
Mr. and Mrs. Waitt loved to go square dancing and host card parties. She enjoyed hosting parties and looked forward to seeing everyone. She loved to cook and try new recipes and enjoyed going shopping, especially with her family. She looked forward to the holidays and loved to decorate for Christmas. She also loved to travel and looked forward to planning her trips.
She is going to be greatly missed by her family.
Survivors include her two daughters Kathy (Bill) Small and Lisa (Gary) Trump; grandchildren Andrew Dollard, Matthew (Anne) Dollard and Ashley Santasiero; great-grandchildren Rachel Dollard, Madison Dollard, Jack Dollard, Nicholas Dollard, Arianny Peters and Alexander Seyfried; a brother, Dr. James L. Smith; and her nieces and nephews.
Other than her husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Miriam Carol Burgess.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday March 12, 2021 at 5 p.m. at Sheridan United Methodist Church, 207 E. 2nd St. in Sheridan. Family and friends are invited to gather from 3 p.m. until time of services. The Rev. John Meunier and The Rev. Chad Fultz will be officiating.
